Description:
The town of Eagle Mountain is surrounded by large tracts of open shrubsteppe and farmland, just 15 minutes west of the I-15 corridor on the northwest corner of Utah County.

Birding:
Year round the area provides ideal habitat for raptors.  Northern Harrier, Golden Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, and Prairie Falcon can be found year round.  During the winter months Merlin and Rough-legged Hawks use the area.  During the summer months Swainson's Hawks move-in.  Other prairie-type birds can be seen as well.  During the winter it is possible to find large flocks of Horned Larks here and during the winter of 2012-13, these flocks included LAPLAND LONGSPUR, SNOW BUNTING, COMMON REDPOLL, and both species of ROSY-FINCH.

Directions:
From I-15 in Lehi take the Lehi Main exit west to Redwood Road.  Continue west on SR-73 several mile,s past the Ranches Golf Course.  After a few miles you will be in open fields and eventually see the sign for Eagle Mountain on the left.  Take this left onto Eagle Mountain Blvd, and head south.  The road eventually swings east into town.   There are various roads to drive in the area.
